Unbroken

Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and RedemptionUnbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I had read many stories about the men who have survived the evils of combat. However, this is the first time I read about a prisoner of war enduring their stay at a POW camp. This book kept my attention from the beginning to the end. The details that showed the horror of being a prisoner was vividly portrayed. In the end, the book became more about forgiveness then about the horrors of war.

The Whistler

The Whistler (The Whistler, #1)The Whistler by John Grisham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Admittedly, I have only read a few books of John Grisham. I may have seen more movies based on his books than I have read his books. At any rate, each book that I have read have been good. He draws me into the main character, and, although I know they are fictitious, I care deeply what happens to them. Such is the case with this book. During the reading, I was saddened by devastating events; laughed when something funny happen, and, at the end of the book, cheered when the villains go their just desserts. I highly recommend this. I found it a very entertaining read.

Book (Actually Book on CD) Review

Killing Patton: The Strange Death of World War II's Most Audacious GeneralKilling Patton: The Strange Death of World War II's Most Audacious General by Bill O'Reilly
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Very interesting story telling. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. In fact, as Bill O'Reilly read the book, I replayed the scenes from the movie "Patton" starring George C. Scott. I love history, and this book is up there as one of the best.
